HOW THE RYVOAN TRUST CONTRIBUTED TO OUR WORK
Islay & Jura Community Enterprises is a long established registered charity based on the Isle of Islay which has won 4 nationally recognised awards for architecture, personnel, business & Queens award for volunteering. It trades as the Mactaggart Leisure Centre & comprises of 25m swimming pool, gym, sauna, laundry, hair salon, multi purpose room, launderette and houses the credit union.
It provides a range of sporting, leisure, educational & social activities to meet the needs of the community.
The most vulnerable & disadvantaged groups are supported by a externally funded programme of activities of which Aquacare warm water therapy is one.
The Ryvoan Trust have supported this “zero gravity” swim pool activity for mentally & physically disabled adults & children, those with long term conditions, carers & associated family. Without their help & support these people would not be able to increase their fitness/mobility, maintain independence or benefit from relief of chronic pain.
